Hiding - The technique I used here combines acrylic and oil pastels, which were diluted by linen oil. It is a very mysterious work created on cotton canvas. In the foreground, there is a head of a figure hidden in black, only its eyes are visible. It also has a gold-plated crown, as if it had achieved some mastery of camouflage. The surrounding is neutral, in fleshy colours, so that we pay attention to the “Hiding”. When I was creating this image, I was thinking that what we see is not always what it seems. I would like to encourage the viewer to reflect and ask questions, i.e. whether we hide something consciously or unconsciously, why is this happening?
